About The Volen Center
History
Founded in June 1968 as a private not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization, originally called the South County Neighborhood Center. Renamed in 1986 after a dedicated donor and supporter.

Main facility in Boca Raton that incorporates an active senior center, adult day care, professional care management, executive offices, and transportation.

Second facility opened in 2005 in Delray Beach, Florida, and dedicated to providing adult day care to individuals suffering from Alzheimer’s and dementia-related disorders.

Leader in the provision of services for seniors and caregivers in Palm Beach County for 40 years with a track record of exemplary service and a reputation for excellence.

Community partner of the Cities of Boca Raton, Delray Beach, and Boynton Beach, the County of Palm Beach, the Area Agency on Aging, the United Way, and numerous other caring community organizations.

Mission
To enhance the well-being of South Florida seniors, family caregivers, the disabled, and their families by educating and advocating on their behalf and by providing health care and supportive services that meet their physical, emotional, social and psychological needs.

Guiding Principles
Ensure that all seniors, families, and caregivers have access to a continuum of services that allows them to continue to be active participants in the community and maintain the highest quality of life possible.

Provide our senior citizens with individual attention, care, and TIME to enable them to live each day to the fullest.

Provide the highest quality services that support dignity and independence which are vital to the mental and spiritual health of aging persons.

Ensure that caregivers receive the emotional, mental, and practical supports they need to maintain their own quality of life and health.

Educate the community about senior needs and issues.

Recognizing that most people will one day be caregivers and each of us will be a senior, engage every generation in activities that foster communication about the needs of seniors today and in the future
